Caving

We have been in the cave for many months, long enough for Olive to fall in love with Lynette, and for Yolanda to miscarry, and Brynn to grow an extra set of teeth. It is the first that frightens us most. In the dark you can have a baby or not a baby, and darkness always contains too many teeth. But we were not prepared for the melding of bodies in the black: how you stop understanding where the yielding flesh of you begins and where, in the blindness, the bright spark of another flares up like a wild poppy.
