What She Wore

Image of green rain boots in a puddle.Diapers. A bunny onesie and a smile displaying two front teeth. Rain boots. Mud. A vampire cape and fangs. Braces. Itchy gym shorts, a sports bra. Band-Aids, then scabs. Sunscreen and a one-piece swimsuit. Too much purple eye shadow. Finally, a string bikini. That regrettable shag haircut. Handcuffs. A cap and gown, honors regalia. A diaphragm. Hiking boots. An artist’s smock, gouache. Tulle, silk, and a platinum band. A nursing bra. Mom jeans, a sweater. On sunny days, gardening gloves. A chemo port and catheter. A prosthesis and a pink ribbon tattoo. Resignation. Her favorite dress, beneath the cool earth.

Awesome! A true clasic to be remembered and quoted. A similar impact to the clasic one sentence story, “For Sale baby shoes, never worn.”

This one. This one. Perfectly/gorgeously written.
